Dates/Season/Month/Best season : Best time to visit Mcleodganj/ Dharamshala is from September to December and Mid-March to Mid-July. Visit in Jan, if you want to enjoy snow, August is Rainy season. However if you want to go to Triund Skip Months of January and February because byway to Triund is cut off by heavy snowfall.

Starting point & time:  ISBT Kashmiri Gate , Delhi ,at 8:00 PM.

Mode of transportation: State Government Buses and Private buses from Delhi. Local Sigh seeing can be done by Taxi or Auto. One can take train from Delhi till Pathankot then hire a cab or Bus.

Places to stay:  There are hotels, catering to all kind of pockets, since mine was a low budget trip, I settled for a hotel where the tariff per night was 400 rupees. If you are looking for Cheap hotels Better look at back side of Main Market. I stayed La Familia Hotel which is next to Bella Hotel.

Places to eat at/ Delicacy: The Momos and Thupka are definitely a must try when you visit Mcleodganj. Nick's Italian kitchen and Jimmy's Italian kitchen serves some great pizzas, lasagna and gnocchi. The authentic Bhutanese and Tibetan food at Tibet Kitchen is definitely worth digging into. Mclo Café Roof Top, Carpe Diem.

Must visit Places: Bhagshu Nag TempleWaterfall Near Bhagsu Nag, Shiva Café (Near Waterfall), MonasteryTriund Trek. If you have time you can go to Bir Billing for paragliding experience and Dharamshala to See world’s Highest International Stadium.

Must Shop/Souvenirs/Shopping places: You can buy Be it paintings, musical bowls, idol of Lord Buddha, Tibetan jewelry, artifacts, music or cloths.

Points to be cautious about:- Shopkeeper will ask more Money so it’s totally depend how much one can bargain.

Additional tips:  Bir Billing can be visited for paragliding from Dharamshala by taxi. You can also take a bus to Palampur and hire a taxi from there.

Carry Big bottle of Water during Trek since buying water bottle from shops is expensive (40-50 rupee per bottle).
Planning the trip: Carry Windcheater, Umbrella or Rain Coat, Sleeper, Trekking Shoes, One torch if your phone don’t have flash , Swiss Knife , Jacket

Please Note: If you are planning for Trekking better keep as less clothes as possible.
